Motorcyclist critically injured in left-turn crash with SUV in Channelview

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries in a Thursday night crash on Market Street in Channelview, per the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the wreck happened at about 10:31 p.m. in the 16500 block of Market Street.

Prior to the collision, investigators say Reynol Estrada was driving west in a 2008 Ford Edge on Market Street. The motorcycle rider, Bruce Bratton, was riding a 2025 Honda XR125 in the same direction at the same time.

According to police records, as Estrada was attempting to turn left onto Cedar Street, Bratton moved to pass Estrada on the left in an unsafe manner. Bratton’s motorcycle then struck the Ford along its left side.

Authorities say the collision threw Bratton from the bike. Bratton was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Emergency crews took Bratton to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. Officials say the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition after the crash.
