Motorcyclist dies after crash on Beaumont Hwy in NE Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 27-year-old man was fatally injured last Friday morning, August 25, as a result of a motorcycle wreck on the Beaumont Highway in northeast Houston, reports the Houston Police Department.

First responders were dispatched to the scene at 10001 Beaumont Highway (North U.S. Highway 90) shortly after 6:06 a.m.

Witnesses told authorities that the man, who was operating a gray Honda XL80 motorcycle westbound on the highway, had been cutting in and out of traffic. At one point, the male rider, who was not wearing a helmet, lost control of the bike and was ejected.

The victim was rushed by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, confirmed officials.

An investigation by the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division was underway.
