Motorcyclist dies after crash with tree on Sterlingshire St in NE Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A 36-year-old man died late Monday morning after losing control of his motorcycle and causing it to hit a tree in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal accident took place in the 8700 block of Sterlingshire Street, in the city’s East Houston neighborhood, at about 11:45 a.m.
Investigators with the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the man was operating a red Honda motorcycle westbound on the road. At one point, for reasons still unknown, he lost control of the bike, which proceeded to strike a curb and slam into a tree.
Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed as the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences works to notify his family.
No other passengers were involved, and no other vehicles were impacted.
Authorities continue to investigate.
