Motorcyclist dies following crash near Memorial

HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist died in a wreck on the 12200 block of the Katy Fwy on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.

A man was riding an orange Harley Davidson motorcycle west on the Katy Fwy when he missed the entrance to the Katy Toll Rd. He was driving between white divider poles to access the tollway when he collided with a black Hyundai Elantra around 4:25 p.m.

The collision sent the motorcyclist back into the main lanes of the Katy Fwy. A white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driver then hit the motorcyclist.

Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital, where he died.

Following the collision, the two drivers remained at the scene. Authorities determined they were not impaired. They were questioned and released.

The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
