Motorcyclist killed in collision with 18-wheeler on the East Freeway
HOUSTON, TX – Authorities said a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer were involved in a fatal crash in Houston on Sunday evening.
According to a Click2Houston report, the collision took place at about 6:20 p.m. in the 14300 block of the East Freeway eastbound feeder road near Beltway 8.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that the driver of a Freightliner 18-wheeler towing a semi-trailer was trying to make a right turn onto Redmond Street when the semi-trailer was struck by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division.
The roadway was shut down for several hours while the incident was being cleared and investigated.
