Multi-vehicle wreck blocks multiple lanes on I-45 in SE Houston
HOUSTON, TX — Authorities responded to a collision Monday afternoon that closed several lanes on Interstate 45 in southeast Houston, according to Houston Transtar.
The multi-vehicle accident occurred on the southbound side of I-45 (Gulf Freeway) before Exit 39 to Broadway Street and Park Place Boulevard. It was verified by officials at 1:20 p.m.
While the cause of the crash was not immediately clear, up to three vehicles were involved, leaving the right shoulder, right lane, and three center lanes blocked.
As of 1:45 p.m., more than 25 minutes later, the closure remains in place.
No major injuries have been confirmed at this time.
