NW Houston flea market ignites in Airline Drive hit-and-run

HOUSTON, TX – Police are looking for a driver who crashed into a flea market and caused a fire in northwest Houston on Monday, reports KHOU 11.

The accident happened before 6 a.m. at the Sunny Flea Market, which is located on Airline Drive near the intersection with West Louise Road.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle struck both a fence and a small shack at the flea market, ultimately causing a fire that spread to a food truck and other nearby structures.

No injuries have been reported thus far, but the market did sustain significant injuries.

The driver involved in the accident fled the scene on foot.

Officials closed Airline Drive in the area of the crash while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the wreckage.

The investigation is ongoing.
