Officer fatally collides with woman near Forest West Park
HOUSTON, TX – According to KHOU, a Houston Police Department officer struck and killed a woman with her patrol car on Antoine St near Pinemont Dr on Thursday night.
A female officer was driving the patrol car with a male passenger. They were transporting a narcotics suspect to jail when the officer ran over a 41-year-old woman who had just gotten off a bus with her three children.
The victim dropped something and went down to grab it when she was hit by the officer.
Following the collision, officers rendered aid to the woman. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital, where she died.
The officers and suspect in the patrol car were not hurt in the wreck.
The HPD’s vehicular crime division and internal affairs are investigating the incident.
