One dead, five hospitalized after Friday morning T-bone crash near downtown Houston
HOUSTON, TX – One passenger died and five other occupants were injured in a T-bone crash early Friday near downtown Houston, reports KTRK.
Houston police say the crash happened at the intersection of Hutchins Street and Pierce Street. According to official reports, a Dodge Challenger and a Toyota Corolla were involved in the T-bone collision.
Investigators have not said which driver caused the crash. They also have not confirmed whether speed or impairment played a role.
Officers say six adults were taken to the hospital after the wreck. Five of those victims rode in the Corolla. The occupant of the Challenger was driving alone.
A male passenger of the Corolla later died at the hospital. Another Corolla passenger remains in critical condition.
Police say the Challenger driver suffered minor injuries. The other injured victims continue to receive evaluation and treatment.
Houston police plan to conduct forensic testing on both vehicles as their investigation continues.
