One dead, speeding driver hospitalized in Houston crash on Westheimer Road
HOUSTON, TX – One driver died, and another was hospitalized after a two-car crash early Friday near 11800 Westheimer Road, per the Houston Police Department.
Houston police responded to the scene in west Houston around 1:45 a.m. on May 1. Prior to the collision, investigators say a 19-year-old man was driving a black Nissan Sentra west on Westheimer. Police report that the man was driving at an unsafe speed before the impact.
The Nissan then hit a silver Toyota Camry, according to officials. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived after the crash and reportedly pronounced the Toyota driver dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the man’s name.
The 19-year-old Nissan driver was taken to a local hospital after the crash. Police have not commented on his condition.
HPD continues to investigate the fatal collision.
