One dead, three hurt in high-speed single-car crash in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A 23-year-old man died in a single-car wreck early Saturday on Will Clayton Parkway in Houston, per the Houston Police Department.

Police said the crash happened at about 2:05 a.m. Investigators say the vehicle, a silver Buick Verano, was moving west at high speed just before the collision. Officials report that the driver lost control and went off the road.

The car then slammed into a tree near the 7100 block of Will Clayton Parkway. First responders found a male passenger dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed his identity.

Paramedics took the 29-year-old driver and two 16-year-old passengers to a local hospital for medical care.

Police say no other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
