Overturned semi, gas leak blocks traffic on US-290 in Waller
WALLER, TX – Emergency crews responded to an accident involving an overturned semi on the highway in east-central Waller County on Sunday, reports Fox 26 Houston.
The crash happened sometime before 4:15 p.m. on the eastbound side of US-290 near FM 362 in the city of Waller, which is approximately 42 miles northwest of Houston.
Police haven’t shared any details about the cause of the collision, which they say involved an overturned 18-wheeler. After rolling, authorities say, the truck began to leak gas. It’s unclear if any other vehicles were involved or if anyone sustained injuries in the crash.
Officials closed the eastbound side of US-290 in the area of the crash while crews worked to clean up the gas leak and clear the scene.
