Passenger dies following single-vehicle crash on N Fwy Service Rd
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, an adult 28-year-old male passenger died in a single-vehicle collision near 14100 N Fwy Service Rd on Sunday.
A 24-year-old man was driving a green Chevrolet Suburban south when he tried to get on the ramp to the freeway and collided with the ramp’s concrete median around 2:20 a.m.
The collision caused the SUV to roll over across a grassy median before coming to rest on the main lanes of the freeway. The passenger was ejected from the Suburban during the wreck.
Rescue crews transported the driver and passenger to an area hospital, where the passenger died. The driver was treated and released. Authorities determined the driver did not show signs of impairment.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident. They have not filed charges at this time.
