Pedestrian crash at Westheimer, Westerland claims elderly woman
HOUSTON, TX – A 73-year-old woman died Friday morning in an auto-pedestrian crash in west Houston, reports abc 13 News.
The accident occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Westheimer Road near Westerland Drive. This is north of the Westpark Tollway and East of the Sam Houston Tollway.
Police say the victim entered the crosswalk when she did not have right of way. A truck and one other vehicle struck her in the intersection.
The woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her name to the public.
One of the drivers failed to stop and render aid following the collision.
