Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run on Parker Rd in Houston’s Northside

HOUSTON, TX — A hit-and-run pedestrian crash late Tuesday, January 30, in Houston’s Northside/Northline area claimed the life of a 38-year-old man, according to the Houston Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 400 block of Parker Road, at around 11:05 p.m.

An early investigation by the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division shows that the man was crossing the roadway on foot and away from a marked crosswalk when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver then fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the victim.

Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced the male pedestrian deceased at the scene.

At this time, the HPD continues to investigate and search for the hit-and-run driver. Anyone who may have relevant information is encouraged to call the department’s Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072. Anonymous calls can also be made with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
