Pedestrian dies following crash on Bissonnet St in SW Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A pedestrian collision Tuesday afternoon in southwest Houston claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident took place in the 6000 block of Bissonnet Street, at the intersection with Rampart Street. It was first reported at around 1:10 p.m.
Preliminary details show the woman was walking across the northbound side of Rampart from Bissonnet’s south side at the same time a woman in a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck drove east onto Bissonnet from Rampart.
The female pedestrian was rushed by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital. Officials said she later succumbed to her injuries.
The female driver, who was interviewed at the scene, was determined to not be intoxicated and was released.
An investigation remains open and ongoing.
