Pedestrian killed in accident on I-35 in north Austin

AUSTIN, TX – A person is dead after they were struck by a car in north Austin late last night, according to a tweet by the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened around 10:50 p.m. outside a shopping center near the Tech Ridge area, at 12036 N I-35 frontage road.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene.

The driver was not reported as injured.

ATCEMS warned travelers to avoid the area, as road closures were likely.
