Pedestrian killed in drunk-driving crash at I-10, Garth Rd

BAYTOWN, TX – A pedestrian died, and a driver was charged early Sunday in a DUI crash along the interstate in eastern Harris County.

According to Click 2 Houston, the accident occurred around 12:3o a.m. on I-10, or the East Freeway, near Garth Road, in north Baytown. This is about 26 miles southeast of Houston.

It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the collision occurred.

The victim, who has been identified only as a 34-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Authorities arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated.

A full investigation is underway.
