Pedestrian not utilizing the crosswalk on Westheimer is struck and killed
HARRIS COUNTY, TX- A person was killed by a car around 11:30 at night at 6200 Westheimer Rd. on Feb. 24th, KTRK reports.
No identifying information on the victim has been released yet.
It is know that this male pedestrian was not using the crosswalk near Briargrove Dr. and Westheimer Rd. and that he passed away while on his way to be hospitalized.
The driver who struck the victim stayed at the accident until authorities arrived.
The Houston Police alerted the public to the incident through Twitter reports. The Westside and VCD officers attended to the call, and the westbound lanes near the location of the collision were closed off while law enforcement dealt with the incident.
There is currently an ongoing investigation into this accident.
