Pedestrian severely injured in early-morning hit-and-run in downtown Austin
AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was severely injured by a hit-and-run driver in the downtown area early this morning, according to KXAN News and Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash occurred between 1000-1417 W Cesar Chavez Street near the N Lamar Boulevard bridge at 3:57 a.m., when a female pedestrian was struck by a driver who then fled the scene.
The victim, who was unconscious when emergency crews arrived at the scene, was declared a trauma alert and then brought to Dell Seton to receive treatment for critical, life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to search for the suspect driver and to investigate the accident.
