Pickup fatally strikes cyclist at Sweetwater Ln, W Gulf Bank Rd
HOUSTON, TX – One cyclist died, and another sustained injuries Saturday when a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in northwest Houston.
According to Click 2 Houston, the accident occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sweetwater Lane and West Gulf Bank Road in the Northline Terrace area of northwest Houston.
Police say the cyclists were riding in the roadway when a pickup truck hit them. Low visibility, they say, was a likely factor in the collision.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the cyclist who died.
Medics transported the other cyclist to an area hospital with critical injuries.
No charges have been filed thus far.
