Police chase ends in watery crash near 290, James Muse Pkwy
PRAIRIE VIEW, TX- The HSCO Dive Team has been deployed to search for the occupants of a vehicle that crashed into a Waller County lake during a police chase, reports Fox 26 Houston.
The accident occurred early Thursday near US-290 and James Muse Parkway in Prairie View, which is about 47 miles northwest of Houston.
The investigation indicates that the driver of a stolen vehicle fled an attempted police stop at Barker Cypress Road and US-290 in Cypress. The Waller County Sherriff’s Office pursued the suspect on US-290 northbound, ultimately deploying spikes near James Muse Parkway.
The vehicle then left the highway to the east and crashed into a lake.
Officials are currently searching for the vehicle and its occupants. At least one fatality is likely.
