Police chase ends with injury accident in Louetta

LOUETTA, TX – According to ABC 13, a police pursuit ended with a crash that injured three people near TX 249 SB and Louetta Rd on Tuesday.

Deputies in Montgomery County attempted to perform a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe when the driver sped off on TX 249.

The driver kept going off the highway and the feeder road. At one point, he tried to cross the median to get back onto TX 249 when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the center divider before rolling over.

A female passenger was thrown from the vehicle and landed in the northbound lanes. The driver was partially ejected and became trapped under the Tahoe.

Rescue crews transported the driver and the passenger who was ejected to an area hospital in critical condition. The other passenger suffered minor injuries in the collision.

Crews shut down a section of TX 249 to process the scene.

Authorities do not know why the driver ran from police.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
