Police investigate deadly auto vs. pedestrian crash on Brisbane St
HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department‘s Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating a fatal auto vs. pedestrian collision that occurred on the 800 block of Brisbane St on Tuesday.
A 61-year-old woman was behind a green Chevrolet Tahoe parked at a cleaning station of a business on Brisbane St and was cleaning the open rear hatch of the vehicle when the 21-year-old male driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck collided with her and trapped her between the two vehicles.
Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where she died.
The pickup truck driver told officers his foot slipped off the brake of the vehicle before he hit the woman.
Authorities determined he was not impaired and released him. They have not filed charges against him at this time.
