Police officer hits, injures 12-year-old riding scooter in Westheimer Lakes
WESTHEIMER LAKES, TX – A Brookshire police captain struck a 12-year-old riding an electric scooter with his unmarked police vehicle near Canyon Fields Drive and Idle Wood Crossing Drive on June 3, according to KTRK.
Captain John Miller was driving a city-issued unmarked police car when he hit a 12-year-old boy riding an electric scooter as they were crossing the street around 8:45 p.m.
First responders transported the boy to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Miller did not display signs of impairment and volunteered to submit a blood sample. The results of the blood test have not been completed.
Authorities have not charged Miller with a crime.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
