Semi crash blocks lanes of Katy Fwy at Houston Ave bridge
HOUSTON, TX – Drivers experienced delays along the freeway in Houston Sunday night after an 18-wheeler struck a major overpass, reports KHOU 11.
Shortly before 9 p.m., crews responded to the eastbound side of the Katy Freeway, or I-10, at the Houston Avenue bridge. This is just west of I-45 and south of Feed Art and Nature Park.
The semi that struck the bridge exceeded clearance requirements for the overpass. The crash ultimately blocked at least three lanes of I-10 eastbound while teams worked overnight to clear the wreckage.
No injuries have been reported thus far, and authorities haven’t released any details about the driver involved in the collision.
A full investigation is underway. Our team of news writers will keep apprised of the story and report back if we learn more about injuries or the circumstances of the crash.
