Several students hurt in bus crash at FM 2854, Mail Route Rd
MONTGOMERY, TX – Police are investigating a major injury collision involving a school bus that happened Thursday in western Montgomery County.
According to Houston Public Media, the accident happened prior to 8 a.m. at the intersection of FM 2854 and Mail Route Road in Montgomery. This is approximately 54 miles northwest of Houston.
Police haven’t yet shared any details about the cause of the crash, nor is it clear if other vehicles were involved.
Medics transported six students from the bus to area hospitals with unknown injuries. An additional two students were taken to the hospital by their parents.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Officials closed FM 2854 in the area of the collision while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
