Speeding motorcyclist hits tree on Woodway Dr, dies at scene

HOUSTON, TX – A 24-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday night in a solo crash along a major roadway in west Houston, reports KHOU 11.

Shortly after 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to a high-speed accident along Woodway Drive just south of the Houston Country Club in the Greater Uptown area.

Police say that the operator of an eastbound black Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle was speeding when he lost control of his bike, travelled into the center median, and collided with a tree.

The motorcyclist, who has not yet been named by police, died at the scene of the accident
