Suspected impaired driver fatally collides with motorcyclist on Fry Rd
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, one person is dead and another is in the hospital after an alleged impaired driver collided with a motorcyclist on the 2000 block of Fry Rd on Saturday.
Kade Sorrell was operating a motorcycle with Katelyn Sorrell as a passenger in the northbound lanes of Fry Rd as Trymeshia Smith was driving a Chevrolet Malibu south in the northbound lanes. Smith turned in front of the motorcyclist, and Sorrell hit the rear passenger door around 2:43 a.m.
First responders pronounced Katelyn dead at the scene and transported Kade to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities arrested Smith for suspicion of DWI.
The Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
