SUV fatally strikes cyclist on W Airport Blvd in SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A vehicle fatally struck a woman on an electric bike Sunday night in southwest Houston, reports Fox 26.

The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on West Airport Boulevard between Hillcroft Avenue and Bob White Drive. This is just north of the Rainy Meadows Apartments.

Police say it was dark when a southbound Mercedes SUV hit an unlit electric bike. The cyclist, whose name has not yet been released to the public, died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
