Three injured in Harris County left-turn crash on Gears Road
HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Three people were hurt Wednesday night in a left-turn crash involving two pickup trucks on Gears Road in Harris County, per the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision happened at around 8:46 p.m. near 1600 Gears Road.
Just before the crash, Dominique Carmouche was driving a maroon 2015 Ford F-250 west on Gears Road. A juvenile passenger was riding with him.
At the same time, Teodula Calderon-Hernandez was driving a red 2006 Ford F-150 in the opposite direction.
Deputies say Calderon-Hernandez failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn toward Adel Road. The two pickups then collided.
Medics took Carmouche and his passenger to Memorial Hermann TMC for treatment. Officials say both were in stable condition at the time and are expected to recover.
Calderon-Hernandez was transported to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities say Carmouche cooperated with investigators after the incident. They also said he showed no signs of impairment.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the crash.
