Two killed, one seriously injured after wrong-way collision in Buda

BUDA, TX – Travis County Emergency Services responded to a fatal accident involving a semi truck along Interstate 35 in Buda overnight Friday.

The crash happened in the interstate’s 13000 block when the driver of a sedan struck a semi head-on while traveling south in the northbound lanes at about 12:45 a.m., according to CBS Austin.

Officials say the sedan’s driver was ejected from their vehicle as a result of the collision. The semi subsequently caught fire in the crash. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger in the semi was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials are investigating the circumstances that led up to the fatal collision.
