Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian on TX-288 near Southmore Blvd

HOUSTON, TX – One person died Thursday night when a car struck them along the highway near Houston’s Museum District.

According to Fox 26 Houston, the accident happened sometime before 9 p.m. on TX-288 near Southmore Boulevard, which is just east of the Children’s Museum Houston.

Police say the victim was struck and killed while standing near their vehicle after an earlier collision.

Authorities haven’t yet released the name of the deceased.

The driver stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

A full investigation is underway.
