Woman arrested after crash that killed her partner in Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A 39-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a Wednesday night crash that killed her partner.
According to The Houston Chronicle, the crash occurred on the 600th block of Century Plaza Drive. The 39-year-old woman, identified as Yury Ramirez-Chavez, was reportedly going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone and lost control of her car and crashed into a grassy median.
Ramirez-Chavez was injured, while her partner, 37-year-old Miguel Turrubiartes, was thrown from the vehicle and died from his injuries.
EMS crews took Ramirez-Chavez to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Harris County deputies arrested her.
Ramirez-Chavez has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and is due for a court appearance scheduled for Friday, June 12. As of this writing, she appears to have no set defense attorney.
