Woman dies after rollover crash on Collingsworth St in NE Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A 50-year-old woman died early Sunday, July 23, after a single-vehicle accident in Houston’s Kashmere Gardens neighborhood, according to the Houston Police Department.
The HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the fatal wreck occurred at 5399 Collingsworth Street, at the intersection with Lockwood Drive, at about 2:40 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found the woman was operating a black Dodge Charger southbound on Lockwood Drive when she tried to turn left onto Collingsworth Street. For reasons still unclear, the female driver lost control of the vehicle, which hit two curbs and a utility pole before overturning.
Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is working to verify her identity.
No other occupants or vehicles were involved.
