Woman fatally struck on TX-87 near Jacks Rd in Crystal Beach

CRYSTAL BEACH, TX – A 57-year-old woman died last Saturday night in an auto-pedestrian crash in Galveston County, reports 12 News Now.

Shortly before 8 p.m., emergency crews responded to a fatality accident along TX-87 near South Jacks Road in Crystal Beach, which is around an hour and a half southeast of Houston.

Police say that Monica Breland was walking across the highway when an elderly driver struck her.

Breland died at the scene.

It’s unclear if the driver will face charges in connection to the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
