Woman killed in hit-and-run near Bush Intercontinental Airport

HOUSTON, TX – A woman died while on foot after two vehicles struck her early Sunday near Will Clayton Parkway, reports Click2Houston.

Reports indicate the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. near Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Officers responded to the 6500 block of Will Clayton Parkway after receiving information about a person in the road. When police arrived, they found an adult woman who had suffered fatal injuries.

Investigators say the driver of a white vehicle first hit the woman, then left without stopping. Then, police say another motorist ran over the woman. That driver returned after realizing they had hit a person.

The second driver stopped nearby, activated their hazard lights, and waited for police. Officers found no evidence of impairment after interacting with the second driver.

Houston Fire Department crews confirmed the woman’s death at the scene. Officials said the woman appeared to be white or Hispanic but have not yet released her name.

Police continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run and encourage anyone with details to contact HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
