Woman killed in Houston pedestrian crash on West Little York Road

HOUSTON, TX – A 35-year-old woman died in an auto-pedestrian crash early Thursday on West Little York Road in Houston, per the Houston Police Department.

Police say the deadly incident happened around 4:40 a.m. near 800 West Little York Road.

Investigators say that a driver in a gray GMC Sierra was traveling westbound when they hit the woman as she was crossing the roadway. The woman was reportedly not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. According to police, the woman failed to yield the right of way to the driver.

Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. There were no reported injuries for the driver, and investigators say he showed no signs of impairment. Officers questioned the driver and then released him.

Police say the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will confirm the woman’s identity after family notification.

The case remains under investigation.
