Woman struck, killed on I-10 near Calder Ave in Beaumont
BEAUMONT, TX – A Vidor woman sustained fatal injuries Sunday morning when she was struck along the interstate in northeast Jefferson County, reports Fox 4 Beaumont.
The accident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-10 near McFaddin and Calder Avenues in Beaumont, which is approximately 85 miles northeast of Houston.
Police say that Jennifer Huffman was walking along an eastbound lane of travel when at least two vehicles, possible more, hit her. Huffman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
One of the drivers involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
The other driver(s) involved did not remain at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
