Wrecker rear-ends stalled car on Southwest Fwy, killing 1

HOUSTON, TX – The driver of a disabled vehicle died early Saturday in a rear-end collision along the freeway in southwest Houston, reports abc 13 News.

At 2:15 a.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of Southwest Freeway and Chimney Rock Road in the Larchmont area.

Police say it was dark when a tow truck rear-ended a stalled Mazda on the freeway. The hazard lights on the Mazda were not activated at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Mazda, who has not yet been named publicly by police, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The tow truck driver stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.

A full investigation is underway.
