Young man dies after fiery wreck at Clute Municipal Park

CLUTE, TX – A 23-year-old man died in a fiery crash on Wednesday at Clute Municipal Park near Brazoswood High School, reports KTRK.

Investigators say the driver had been heading south on Brazoswood Drive before the crash. His vehicle reportedly left the roadway and went through a park barrier, then entered a pool at Clute Municipal Park.

Police say the pool was empty of both water and people at the time.

After the young man’s vehicle crashed into the decommissioned pool, authorities say it caught fire. The driver died from his injuries.

Early findings suggest the man may have had a medical emergency just before the wreck occurred. The crash remains under investigation.
