Young man struck on highway while fixing sister’s car in Harris County
HOUSTON, TX- Obinna Ugbonta was killed while working on his sister’s broken vehicle on Westpark Tollway on Oct 15, ABC13 Houston reports.
Harris County Police, Precinct 5, responded to a call at 15100 Westpark Tollway.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found 24-year old Ugbonta dead from having been hit by the damaged car after it was struck by a driver in a black sedan. They also found Ugbonta’s older sister was injured from the impact.
The driver was later discovered to be 30 year-old Michael Oluwatobi Tinubu. Tinubu himself did not sustain physical harm from the accident.
Tinubu was charged with intoxicated manslaughter as a result of striking the car which killed Ugbonta and injured his sister.
Ugbonta was described as being a man who served both God and his community.
