1 killed in car vs. box truck crash on Grand Parkway near Tomball
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — One person died Friday evening after a two-vehicle accident on the Grand Parkway near southeast Tomball, reports ABC13.
The fatal collision occurred on the eastbound lanes approaching Hufsmith-Kohrville Road. It was first reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at 4:52 p.m.
Authorities have not disclosed the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but a box truck was involved, and one person was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger car was seen with significant damage on both ends.
The scene left only one open eastbound lane, causing a traffic backup in the area. The eastbound ramp to State Highway 249 and the eastbound lanes of State Highway 99 were also shut down during the response and investigation.
