SUV kills man pushing cart on Highway 249
HOUSTON, TX- Bon Cook IV was killed on the side of Highway 249 by a passing SUV on April 6th, KTRK reports.
At 6:22a.m., Jesse Lopez hit Cook at 2600 West Mount Houston Road when Cook crossed the road in front of the 2008 Ford Escape. Lopez had the right of way at the time.
When Cook was hit, he was pulling along a cart with some of his belongings on it. He died at the scene.
Lopez was not reported injured and did cooperate with authorities in their investigation.
The dim lighting at the time of day is thought to have contributed to this accident.
