Flying tire causes father’s death on I-10
HOUSTON, TX- A tire fell off a box truck and crashed into another vehicle on I-10, killing the male passenger on April 13th, Click2Houston reports.
The incident occurred near Bunker Hill Road.
The vehicle that initially lost the tire was in the eastbound lanes but the tire, once loose, made its way into the the opposing lanes. That vehicle that initially held the tire never stopped at the scene.
Clayton Alexander Vaughn, a 21 year-old father of a four month-old little girl, was identified as the deceased victim.
Vaughn’s girlfriend was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident. She was the driver and was hospitalized but remained in stable condition.
After the tire crashed into the car, the car containing Vaughn and his girlfriend drove across six lanes and was stopped by a concrete wall.
