Man, 2 children escape sinking pickup after crash into Sugar Land lake
FORT BEND COUNTY, TX — A man and his two children managed to escape a partially submerged vehicle Sunday evening after it crashed into a Sugar Land lake, reports ABC13.
Sugar Land Police said the incident occurred on a span of Brooks Street shortly before 5:30 p.m.
According to authorities, the man was driving a pickup truck when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into a lake near a bridge.
The male driver and the two child passengers were able to safely exit the vehicle with no serious injuries.
Photos taken at the scene show the pickup almost wholly submerged in the body of water.
An investigation remains in progress, but intoxication is not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
