2 dead, 1 left seriously hurt after pedestrian crash involving DUI suspect in NW Houston
HOUSTON, TX — Two men have died following a pedestrian crash early Friday, May 19, in northwest Houston that left a woman seriously injured, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal incident occurred on 500 Rankin Road, west of North Houston Skate Park. It was first reported at around 12:42 a.m.
Authorities said a man was driving a black 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound in the right-hand traffic lane of the road while three pedestrians, two men and a woman, were walking westbound in the right westbound travel lane. At one point, the front-right of the Tahoe struck the three pedestrians.

The female victim, who suffered “suspected serious injuries,” was taken to a local hospital. No updates on her condition have been disclosed.
The driver of the Tahoe, who was found to be intoxicated at the time, was taken into custody. He has since been charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
