Authorities respond to fatal pedestrian crash on I-45 in SW Houston
HOUSTON, TX — At least one person died Thursday morning after a pedestrian crash on Interstate 45 in Houston’s Southbelt/Ellington area, according to ABC13.
The incident occurred on the southbound lanes near Fuqua Street, in an area north of Beltway 8, at about 6:15 a.m.
No information on the circumstances of the event has been shared, but part of the southbound interstate was shut down, causing delays for motorists traveling toward Hobby Airport.
The closure remained in place for over three hours. By 9:21 a.m., all main travel lanes were reopened to traffic.
