Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run on S Post Oak Rd in SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A man, believed to be 45, died late Monday, June 19, after being hit by at least two vehicles in the Willow Meadows area of southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The events unfolded in the 9800 block of South Post Oak Road, at around 10:45 p.m.

Details remain limited, but the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the man was walking in the roadway when was struck by two different vehicles. One driver in an unknown vehicle fled from the scene, failing to stop and render aid. One other driver in a black Honda Civic initially continued away from the scene but returned.

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding paramedics.

Authorities said the remaining driver, a 25-year-old woman, was questioned at the scene before being released. At this time, no charges have been filed against her.

An investigation into the cause of the crash and the victim’s death remains open and ongoing.
