Motorcyclist dies after crash with trailer on Westheimer Rd in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A 23-year-old man was fatally injured late Wednesday, September 6, when he collided with a trailer while riding a motorcycle in west Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the incident occurred in the 10700 block of Westheimer Road, in the Westchase area, at around 11:35 p.m.
Preliminary details show the victim was traveling westbound on a gray Kawasaki motorcycle at the same time a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup with an attached trailer was heading eastbound. At one point, the Chevrolet made a left turn into a parking lot, causing the trailer to enter the Kawasaki’s direct path. Moments later, the motorcycle collided with the trailer.
Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department rushed the rider to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he later died from his injuries, confirmed officials.
The driver of the Chevrolet stayed at the crash site and cooperated with an investigation before being released. They were not suspected of driving while impaired.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
